Meet Louie

Louie Steppe is a certified Master Marine Surveyor holding a USCG 1600 Gross Ton Master Oceans License, with over 20 years of commercial waterfront experience. His background includes work with industry leading companies such as Bouchard, Sea Engineering, P&R Water Taxi, and Sause Bros., where he completed hundreds of Ka'iwi Channel crossings and developed expertise in vessel operations, safety, and marine systems.

His experience working on tug boats provides a unique perspective, allowing him to apply commercial-grade design principles and operational standards to recreational and privately owned vessels.

Louie’s professional experience, combined with a deep connection to the ocean, led to the founding of Hawaiian Ocean Services in 2015.
